The Friends of the Madison Public Library Bookstore

The Friends Bookstore, located on the first floor of the Central Library, sells used and donated books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs, generally for $2 or less. The Friends use sale proceeds to support the Madison Public Library (this includes the Central Library as well as the other neighborhood libraries throughout the City), library programming and services throughout the community.

​The Friends Bookstore is refreshed frequently, with titles rotating in and out. And just because the books are used, doesn’t mean they’re worn: the store has selections ranging from Harry Potter and Tom Clancy, to new fiction, to DIY craft books, cook books, and more!

Volunteer-Ran Store

Looking to donate used books, DVDs, or CDs? 

We welcome donations of one box (excluding textbooks) at our store location. For donations of more than one box, please contact our Bookstore Manager to make arrangements. You can reach them at 608-266-4875.
