The Friends of the Madison Public Library Bookstore
The Friends Bookstore, located on the first floor of the Central Library, sells used and donated books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs, generally for $2 or less. The Friends use sale proceeds to support the Madison Public Library (this includes the Central Library as well as the other neighborhood libraries throughout the City), library programming and services throughout the community.
The Friends Bookstore is refreshed frequently, with titles rotating in and out. And just because the books are used, doesn’t mean they’re worn: the store has selections ranging from Harry Potter and Tom Clancy, to new fiction, to DIY craft books, cook books, to recent travel guides, to classics, to dictionaries and other reference materials in history, political science (and other social sciences), and just about everything in between. If you don’t see what you’re looking for – ask the clerk.
