Volunteers make our organization successful! We are always looking for volunteers to:

  • Clerk at the Book Store; 
  • Sort at the Library Support Facility;
  • Clerk and Help Organize Book Sales;
  • Special Events; and
  • To Serve on the Board or a Committee
  • Help with Mailings

  
Interested in volunteering at the Central Library Friends Bookstore? We have several weekly shifts available.

Please complete the online volunteer form or contact the Friends Bookstore at 608-266-4875 if you are interested in volunteering. The Bookstore Manager will contact you to schedule training.

Volunteer for the All-City Friends Book Sale on Saturday, June 29, 2024!

Every year, all of the Madison Public Library Friends group come together for one large book sale, and we need your help to make it happen! 

Volunteer during the book sale (2 hour shifts):
  • Assistants
  • Cashiers
  • Coordinators/Supervisors
  • Clean-up after the sale from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Set-up before the sale:
  • 6:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. to set up sales tents
  • 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. to set up sales materials/carts/tables
  • Pre-set-up on Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
