Donate to the Friends of the Madison Public Library
The Friends raise funds by selling used books and other materials that Friends members and others in the community donate as well as materials that are weeded from Library collections. If you are moving, downsizing to a new space, or cleaning and sorting your own library to make room for new books and materials, please consider donating to the Friends.
We gladly accept all books in good condition – fiction, nonfiction, travel, children’s, young adult, and any genre, hardcover and paperback – but no textbooks. CDs, DVDs, audio books, and magazines are also welcome.
Donated materials may be dropped off at the Friends Book Store in the Central Library – call the store or check out Facebook for open hours. Thanks to the dedication of current Friends members, pick up may also be arranged – please send us an email or fill out the contact form below to let us know about how many books or boxes you have to donate, and the best way and time to contact you. A receipt for your donation can be provided – just ask.
If you would prefer to make a cash donation, the Friends can now accept online payment donations! Simply select an amount below and your online payment will be distributed to the Friends' PayPal account.
